Why it's difficult to get selected on a low CRS score

The table above represents the number of applicants in each score range as of July 6, 2015, with a total of 41,218 profiles. The red line represents the approximate number of ITAs sent every 2 or 3 weeks -- 1,500+.

Score of 499: 395 profiles ahead of you (99th %ile)
Score of 449: 2,181 profiles ahead of you (94th %ile)
Score of 399: 10,951 profiles ahead of you (73rd %ile)
Score of 349: 25,548 profiles ahead of you (38th %ile)
Score of 299: 38,065 profiles ahead of you (7th %ile)

Each week, 1,500 new profiles enter the pool. About every 5 weeks, 3,000 ITAs are sent out. At the moment, with scores exceeding 450, an average of 600 profiles taken from the pool each week is skimmed only from scores from 451 upwards, leaving 900 profiles of various scores across the pool below the 451 point mark, possibly in the same distribution pattern as the current graph.

For older prospective applicants, a provincial nomination or LMIA could be the only options due to the huge CRS penalty on age. But for younger applicants, there is opportunity if the process is planned ahead and correctly, without needing to become a TFW, or to get a PN cert or an LMIA.
